Hidden Gems of Paris

Skip the line at the Louvre. Forget the Eiffel Tower view (it's better from a distance anyway). Here is the Paris that locals love.

1. Canal Saint-Martin

Buy a bottle of cheap wine and sit by the canal locks in the 10th arrondissement. It's where young Parisians hang out.

2. Le Marais

Wander the medieval streets. Get falafel at L'As du Fallafel (yes, the line is worth it). Visit the hidden gardens in the archives.

3. Parc des Buttes-Chaumont

A massive park built on an old quarry. It has cliffs, a suspension bridge, and a temple on a hilltop island. It feels wildly different from the manicured Tuileries.
